Key Achievements of HNP:

1. Raised Visibility of HBWs: A key achievement of HNP has been the way they have been able to raise the visibility of HBWs and their issues amongst various stakeholders.

2. Preparation of a Draft National Policy for HBWs started in 2003 and the latest draft has been submitted to Ministry of Women's Affairs in 2009. The Ministry of Labour needs to own it after which it will go to Cabinet for approval.

3. Commitment to the MBO structure: The fact that HNP Board has a clear plan to gradually move towards a MBO structure, as well as promote the same among their members, is a very welcome achievement.

4. Capacity Building of Network Members: HNP has been doing capacity building of HBW's organizations and has even organized paid trainings quite successfully.

5. Drafting new Social Security Bill: HNP is in the process of drafting a new Social Security Bill, after various previous attempts by the government were not able to take off.

6. Linkage with Government Schemes: HNP has been facilitating HBWs access to government schemes like National Identity Card scheme under NADRA and Benazir Income Support Programme.

7. Enumeration of HBWs in Census 2011: The proposed census 2011 will address the issues of number of HBWs and their occupations, for the first time, due to the efforts of HNP. There is also optimism that the Labour Force Survey and a Time Use Survey will further look at issues of HBWs.
